Mrs. Jennifer Lomas, Principal

As the proud principal at Serna Elementary, I first joined our North East family in 2006 as a teacher at Stone Oak Elementary. Before being named the Principal at Serna Elementary, I was an Assistant Principal at Hardy Oak and an Assistant Principal and Principal at Las Lomas Elementary. I received a bachelor's degree in biology in 1995 from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota and earned a master's degree in School Administration in 2003 from Trinity University in San Antonio. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at UTSA for Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I have been a passionate educator for 28 years. I am married with one daughter and together we enjoy spending time traveling, camping, and following our favorite sports teams.

I look forward every year to growing our Serna family through new relationships, partnerships, and engagement. I strive for our entire community to be involved and an active part for all students to have a positive school experience. Our students achieve more when many are lifting them up! Please introduce yourself if you see me around campus and let me know how I can support you and your family's experience as a Serna Seal!

Ms. Audrey Cobbs, Assistant Principal

As the proud Assistant Principal of Serna Elementary, I have been a member of the Northeast ISD family since 2006. I began my career at East Terrell Hills Elementary as a classroom teacher, where I taught for eight years before serving as an Instructional Literacy Coach for nine years. Prior to joining Serna Elementary, I proudly served as the Assistant Principal at Montgomery Elementary for three years.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in human and social service administration from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, and my master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University Texas in Austin.

For more than 20 years, I have been passionate about empowering students, supporting teachers, and partnering with families to help every child reach their full potential. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, reading, and attending jazz concerts. I also love to laugh, so every now and then you might catch me at a comedy show! I am the proud mother of two children and a beautiful two-year-old granddaughter, who brings so much joy to my life.

I am excited to partner with and build meaningful relationships with the Serna community as we work together to serve our students, teachers, and families. I believe every child is gifted, and I am passionate about helping students recognize their potential and empowering them to unwrap their unique gifts. Through collaboration, communication, and strong relationships, I believe we can create a positive and enriching experience for every Serna Seal.

I am honored to be part of the Serna family and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of our school. If you see me around campus, please introduce yourself! I would love the opportunity to get to know you and learn how I can support your family as part of the Serna Seal community.
